Makes 1 Quart
2 cups brown sugar
1½ cups tomato powder
½ cup dried, minced onions
2 Tbs mustard powder
2 Tbs smoked paprika
1½ Tbs salt
1 Tbs Worcestershire powder
1 Tbs lemon powder

BBQ Sauce
1 Cup BBQ sauce dry mix
1 ⅓ cups water
¼ cup molasses
5 Tbs apple cidervinegar
1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce (if you didn’t add powder to the mix)
Optional: 1 Tb arrowroot powder or cornstarch (if you prefer thick sauce)
Directions:
In a small pot, mix everything except the arrowroot powder (if using).
Bring to a boil, then lower to a simmer and cookfor 10-15 minutes.
At 10 minutes, taste to see if it’s as sweet as you like it. If not, add honey, maple syrup, or more brown sugar to taste. Cook for 5 more minutes.
If you like your barbecue sauce a little thicker, you can add 1 Tbs of arrowroot powder (or cornstarch) once the mixture is boiling. Mix thoroughly, then lower to a simmer and continue with your 10-15 minute cook time. Note: If using arrowroot powder, the sauce will thicken further upon cooling.
