Herbed Chicken & Rice Mix

Ingredients:
4½ cups rice
2¼ cups vermicelli, broken into half-inch pieces
⅔ cup chicken broth powder
¼ cup dried parsley
2 Tbs onion powder
4 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp ground thyme
Directions:
1.In a large mixing bowl, mix all ingredients until evenly combined.
2.Pour into a half-gallon jar. Optional: Vacuum seal.
This large batch makes approximately 8 cups, which is why we store it in a half-gallon Mason jar. If you don’t have half-gallon jars, a 1.9 liter or 64-ounce pantry container works well too.

To Make the Rice

Ingredients:
1 ¾ cups herbed chicken rice blend dry mix
2 Tbs butter
3 cups water
Directions:
1.In a pot or skillet, melt the butter.
2.Add the dry mix and sauté until the mix look slightly brown and toasted.
3.Add water, and bring to a boil then lower to a simmer.
4.Cover and cook 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until water is fully absorbed and rice is tender.
